"Dietary & Natural Interventions for Autism Spectrum Disorders"
New monthly support group at the Liverpool Library, started by CNY ASA member Christina Stearns, to help address dietary and natural interventions. For more information you can contact Christina at stearnschristina@yahoo.com. Meeting dates are:
- August 26th, 7:00 p.m., Liverpool Library (Carman Room)
- Presenter: Natalia Daughton, Integrative Pharmacist from Natur-Tyme.
- Natalia is a pharmacist who has a wonderful grasp of the supplements that many parents have used with their ASD children. She is very aware of the interactions between pharmaceutical drugs and natural supplements. Natalia will present on a number of different supplements that have been widely used by parents using dietary/biomedical interventions, and talk about healing the gut with diet and supplements. She will also touch on the importance of eating organic.

- Aside from our facilitated discussion on dietary and natural interventions, our special guest presenter for this meeting will be:
- Presenter: Dr. Joseph Borio (a.k.a. "Dr. Joe") of Borio Chiropractic Health Center in Cicero.
- Dr. Joe will present on the importance of the central nervous system, and how we can get the most from our children who struggle with this vital issue. Dr. Joe has experience treating special needs children, and his patients are constantly going to him for nutritional advice as well. Dr. Joe has Celiac disease, and he along with his wife and two boys eat gluten-free -- as well as dairy free. He can share with us the daily challenges and triumphs that come with a diet that is gluten and casein free, especially when it comes to children.
